Longacres Garden Centre is a premier source of gardening supplies in the UK. They offer everything needed for building and maintaining a beautiful garden. With a wide range of garden furniture and barbecues, premium seasonal items for Halloween and Christmas and more, Longacres is a one-stop shop for all gardening needs. 


How People Business assisted the client

At this multi-site garden centre, we provided an extension to the existing HR team, working with the HR Advisor to provide day to day guidance on often complex employee relations issues; these included long and short-term employee absence, disciplinary and grievance issues and right to work guidance. We helped to improve the recruitment process by providing guidance on screening candidate CVs and conducting competency-based interviews. We supported people practices with the development of policies, checklists and procedures, and providing contract and legal guidance. Longacres also utilised the services of some of our external specialist partners such as employment lawyers and Occupational Health providers.
