Healthy teams

Better business outcomes with healthy teams

A healthy team is one that thrives on trust, high-levels of collaboration, open communication, shared goals, inclusion and mutual support.

Case study: Healthy teams

We worked closely with the Learning and Development team at NHS Property Services to provide a two-part workshop, ‘Creating Healthy Teams’ which we delivered virtually to their employees, who manage others.

Healthy teams in organisations bring a range of benefits

  • Increased productivity and performance
Better collaboration in a team leads to better problem-solving, innovation and higher efficiency. When team members communicate well and trust each other, they can focus on achieving results rather than dealing with conflicts or misunderstandings.

  • Higher employee engagement and retention
A positive team environment fosters a sense of belonging and motivation. Engaged employees are more likely to stay with the organisation, reducing turnover costs and preserving institutional knowledge.

  • Better communication and collaboration
Healthy teams encourage open dialogue, psychological safety, and active listening. This leads to fewer misunderstandings, stronger relationships and more effective teamwork across departments.

  • Stronger resilience to change
When teams have a supportive culture, they handle change and challenges more effectively. They are more likely to embrace new strategies, learn from setbacks and remain flexible in dynamic environments.

  • Reduced stress and conflict
A well-functioning team creates a supportive environment that minimises unnecessary stress. Healthy team dynamics reduce the likelihood of toxic behaviours, workplace conflicts and burnout.

  • Increased creativity and innovation
When employees feel safe to share ideas without fear of judgment, they contribute more creatively. Diverse perspectives and constructive discussions lead to new solutions and continuous improvement.

  • Authentic leadership development
Healthy teams help develop future leaders by fostering a culture of mentorship, accountability and professional growth. Employees in such teams are more likely to take initiative and develop leadership skills.

  • Happy and healthy teams means happy clients
When teams work well together, their efficiency and service levels improve, leading to better customer experiences. Happy employees often translate to happy customers.
