Velocity1 specialises in the design, build and deployment of a fibre optic network across residential, business and commercial properties in Wembley Park, London. The business is recognised as having an industry leading position for both the consumer and business markets.
In January 2020, Quintain Limited acquired a 100% stake in Velocity1.
How People Business assisted the client
Through a referral from Quintain (Velocity1’s parent company, who have worked with People Business since 2015), People Business began supporting Velocity1 in May 2020 during the height of the pandemic. From a one-off grievance investigation, the relationship quickly moved from ad-hoc to a retained contract.
Acting as a genuine HR business partner to the Managing Director, People Business provided ongoing support and guidance whilst the business underwent organisational change in its management and ownership. In practical terms this involved creating new people processes and policies, performance management improvements, updating the company handbook and providing trusted HR partnership support for any employee related matters which included handling grievances, disciplinaries, settlement agreements and occupational health referrals.
